Growing up in an Italian kitchen

For the Italian family food = love.

Good food is central to every gathering & is always the topic of discussion.

Days are planned around what will be for dinner that evening & there has to be a very good excuse to miss the family dinner.

Growing up, my fondest memories are of the time spent in my Nonna's kitchen, making, pasta, gnocchi, panetonne ... There was never a recipe book in sight, as everything was added by eye 'a occhio'

It was this upbringing & this communal love of food that has brought me to this point in my life. My passion is food, my happy place is the kitchen. When I am not cooking, I am talking about food, I am reading about food, I am purchasing yet another cookbook or best of all I am preserving foods, when they are at their prime, for future use.
